WHO ARE WE

So I should probably introduce myself, my name is AJ and I am currently a Year 13 student at one of the schools in South Buckinghamshire. This network is my proud creation.

I started this network as part of a youth Stonewall Campaign and it has now blossomed into this fantastic project which has already begun to make amazing progress.

Although I am a full-time student, I dedicate most, if not all, of my spare time to this project and making a difference to LGBT+ matters in the area. As a deputy member of youth parliament, I aim to help make a difference to the youth in my area, with an emphasis on LGBT+ matters.

WHAT DO WE DO

The Network provides a large amount of exclusive resources to be used in schools and other educational facilities. We aim to inform both students and teachers on a wide range of LGBT+ matters; from this we hope to create a safer and more comfortable environment for students at their schools.

As well as providing resources, we aim to help create student led Communities that act as a support network and a further educational group.

WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE

An inclusive curriculum. Basically.

We aim to help schools and students intergrate LGBT+ matters into their school lessons, not just in PSHCE. This will help to bring greater understanding to the LGBT community, and can create a more comfortable and secure environment for students.

The resources page comes with a cirriculum diagram with ways to intergrate LGBT into lessons; there are also student lessons specificly for PSHCE lessons, and teacher workshops to help staff understand LGBT matters and how to approach HBT bullying.
